A new neighbourhood
with Woking FC at its heart

Woking Football Club, in partnership with GolDev Woking, is bringing forward exciting proposals for a modern stadium for professional football at Kingfield, with multi-purpose facilities for retail, business, community and leisure activities.

To make the Woking Community Stadium a reality, a new neighbourhood will be built at Kingfield, called Cardinal Court. Woking Football Club will be at the heart of this new neighbourhood, with the new stadium creating a social hub for the whole community and making Cardinal Court a vibrant destination for people to live, work and play.

A distinctive new neighbourhood

A new neighbourhood of approximately 1,100 homes will be provided at Kingfield, to be called Cardinal Court. The Woking Community Stadium will be at the heart of this new neighbourhood, with the stadium’s multi-purpose retail, leisure and community facilities connected via attractive avenues, landscaped public spaces and inviting arrival points to modern, high-quality apartment buildings.

New homes for a
growing community

Cardinal Court will deliver a mix of studios, one, two- and three bedroom apartments, two-bedroom duplexes and townhouses set across five residential apartment buildings. Each apartment will have its own private amenity space and each building will have a fantastic roof top garden.

A vibrant retail and leisure destination

Multi-purpose facilities for business, community and leisure activities in the stadium and retail spaces, ideal for shops and cafes facing onto a new main avenue, will create a vibrant new destination that will serve as a social hub for the community.

The new central avenue will connect the site to the wider community and through carefully designed hard and soft landscaping will become a shared space for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

High-quality public spaces

A landscaped, shared public space at the new arrival point on Kingfield Road will form an attractive meeting place for visitors and residents.

Our plans for Cardinal Court are strongly focused on delivering high-quality public realm design and placemaking to create a distinctive, vibrant new neighbourhood that is sensitive to its surroundings and well connected to Woking town centre and the local area.

Affordable homes for local people first

As well as contributing towards making the Woking Community Stadium a reality, affordable housing will also be provided, available to local people first.

EGLEY ROAD

New and improved David Lloyd
Health and Racquet Club

David Lloyd Leisure have agreed to relocate from Kingfield to Egley Road, behind Wyevale Garden Centre and Hoe Valley School, where they will provide a new Health and Racquet Club offering a broader range of high-quality facilities. Family houses will also be provided at Egley Road.

The new David Lloyd Woking will provide a purpose-built club to include;

  • Indoor and outdoor tennis courts
  • Indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • Outdoor terrace
  • Spas and saunas, including a luxurious Spa Garden
  • State of the art gym facilities
  • Four dedicated fitness studios
  • Multi-purpose Sports Hall
  • Multi-sport and social clubs
  • Adult and Junior tennis leagues
  • Bar, restaurant and TV lounge
  • A Clubroom with adults only and family areas, along with a business hub
  • Children’s homework areas
  • Games rooms and soft play areas
  • Crèche facilities
  • Dedicated children’s activity areas

New family homes

Alongside the new David Lloyd Woking, around 40 high quality new family houses homes will be  built at Egley Road. A mix of 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes will be provided, all with private gardens and accessible from a new tree lined private driveway.

The existing woodland on the site will be preserved and will form a natural, managed and accessible green buffer between existing homes and the new homes and the leisure facilities proposed for this site.
